I would have appreciated a more respectful treatment of your readers. I came here to learn, not to fight or prove you wrong. As you seem to have a visceral hatred for the current system, I was hoping that you could actually give me some pointers to articles or books that discuss these better alternatives that you believe in.

And I agree with you, the current system is the source of many evils but I suspect not all.

I still do not see how that "if you can do the job you just do it" can work. First of all the logistics: what is the system if there is no sort of "corporation/group"? How does someone get called in for a job? How does someone qualify for the job? And then, how does someone gain all the contextual knowledge to do the job well? Trains and boats can both be repaired by engineers but they do need domain-specific knowledge. We all know that education is not enough to become good at what you do, you need experience. We also know that people are not always perfectly self-aware: in any field there are brilliant, good, ok, mediocre and bad professionals. If everyone was perfectly self-aware there would be no bad professionals in this world... So if you do not want your trains to derail and kill people in the process, you will need some sort of evaluation system or (recrutement) process to define who gets to repair these trains. The only people qualified to judge whether you can do the job would be good engineers that have extensive experience in repairing trains...

Writing about all the wrongs in this world, as you do, trying to open eyes is a worthy cause. It is not enough however. Believe me I am sincere when I say I am hungry for change too. The system will not change unless we (you, me, anyone who wants to see a change) manage to paint a convincing, clear and reassuring picture of a better alternative. A big majority needs to buy into an alternative vision if we want to see change.
Insulting those who are searching for that alternative or want to know more about it will not help your cause.
My questions were sincere, not defiant. Best,
